Run for the Donuts in support of early childhood education
Event Date: Friday, March 13th, 2020, beginning at 6:30 PM
Location: Keiser University- Port St. Lucie campus
Friday, March 13 can be your lucky day! Save the date for an awesome first-time event, the Original Run for the Donuts, in support of early childhood education, beginning at 6:30 PM in Port St. Lucie.
At the Early Learning Coalition, we’ve dreamed up this little short and sweet race, with a donut stop where the water stop should be (well, okay, it’s Florida, we will have water, too!) .We will start and end at Keiser University Parking Lot at Tradition in Port St. Lucie, and you can be sure this will be a family-friendly, delicious treat of a race, timed by the one and only Mike Melton of MCM Timing and brought to you by your friends at the Early Learning Coalition of St. Lucie County, to raise funds for early childhood education.
It’s only two miles, so you can walk or run the distance and you will get the chance to eat DIXIE CREAM donuts at the rest stop, then finish the race and burn off those yummy sugar calories! For every donut you consume (up to 3) you will get 20 seconds off your final time, so this may be a real test of your donut-eating skills, as well as your fancy footwork.
For those race participants who wish to forgo the donuts at the turnaround, you will receive a ticket that entitles you to 3 free donuts packaged to go, at the end of the race.
The race is limited to the first 400 entries though, so sign up early and enjoy deep early-bird discounts on a racing event, you DO-NUT want to miss!
