A message to families impacted by the break in system-generated emails (forgot password, new accounts, terminations, redetermination due, etc.)
The Division of Early Learning (DEL) is migrating its IT systems into the Florida Department of Education. Unfortunately, this transition impacted all system-generated emails (forgotten passwords, new accounts, terminations, redeterminations due, etc.) to families that access voluntary prekindergarten program and school readiness services through the Parent Portal, beginning on Friday, October 21, 2022.
DEL takes full responsibility for this interruption in system-generated emails and apologizes for the difficulties that this has caused our early learning families. For families that were impacted by this interruption in system-generated emails, ELCs are authorized to take any actions necessary to remedy any negative impacts to families.
Here is the latest update on DEL’s efforts to return to full functionality:
1) Emails related to items such as terminations, eligibility, redetermination, etc.: This process is restored. These are fully functional and working as designed. All emails have been sent.
2) Emails related to new accounts: We have identified a solution and are actively working on that development. Additionally, we have identified an interim solution for new account email verification in an effort to help get families access as quickly as possible. We are working through a process to collect email addresses that are pending confirmation and will send out the email via a different avenue. Our target is for this late afternoon/early tomorrow.
3) Emails related to forgot passwords: We have identified a solution and are actively working on that development. If families are unable to access their accounts due to forgotten passwords/being locked out, please ask your ELC to submit a Cherwell ticket on your behalf (please include their name and email address). DEL will work with families individually to reset passwords.
We respectfully request that families do not call the DEL ServiceDesk for assistance as we work to implement these solutions as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding. I apologize for this inconvenience.
