Many childcare centers are open, but some may have adjusted hours and all are following CDC guidelines, to limit class size to 10 or less in a room and take extra sanitary precautions. St. Lucie County’s Emergency Management staff has opened the Public Information Hotline to help residents answer general questions about local government efforts relating to COVID-19 (also known as Coronavirus. That number is 772-460-HELP (4357), currently open weekdays from 8 am to 5 pm. St. Lucie County’s Emergency Operations Center is at Level 2 activation.  To help prevent the potential spread of COVID-19, federal and state health officials recommend that residents limit gatherings of 10 or more. If you are sick or have a compromised immune system, it is recommended that you stay home and avoid public places.
