Our Staff

As the Coalition’s responsibilities grew throughout the years, so did the team behind our success. Initially, the executive director and a board of 25 community leaders administered Coalition activities. Coalition business is now carried out by 31 staff members and 22 board members. The executive director and assistant executive director lead a seasoned management team as well as child care resource and referral specialists, eligibility specialists, fiscal assistants, SR data/contract specialists, resource specialists, the Father and Child Connection program specialist, the office assistant and the special projects assistant. These valuable employees comprise six departments:

Administration
The executive director and assistant executive director collaborate to lead the Coalition’s team of hardworking staff members. They are supported by the special projects assistant. Administration handles assignments including contracts, human resources, state and federal legislation, compliance, marketing/communications and community outreach.

Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R)
A team of three state certified child care resource and referral specialists answers an average of 1,000 calls per month. They help parents with questions ranging from how to get financial assistance for childcare to what services are available to help them meet their family’s individual needs. These specialists provide many parents with information about child care sites in their area and supply lists of child care providers in zip code order.

Eligibility
Five eligibility specialists meet with families and guide them through the eligibility process for the School Readiness program. They work with parents to determine if children are eligible for subsidized day care services. This department is supported by the office assistant.

Fiscal
The fiscal team works together to ensure the Coalition receives state and federal funds in a timely manner; accurately reimburses contracted providers for child care services; educates potential providers about the contracting process; tracks local match status; and handles accounts payable/accounts receivable. This department consists of a fiscal manager, a lead fiscal assistant, a fiscal and payroll specialist, a VPK data specialist and two SR data/contract specialists.

Program
A program manager, seven resource specialists, a resource specialist/grant writer and the Father & Child Connection program specialist comprise this department.

Resource specialists are experienced early education professionals who provide technical assistance to contracted providers. They support and nurture providers so Coalition children receive the best possible early education services.

The Father and Child Connection program specialist sponsors events and activities which help fathers and male role models spend more quality time with their children.

Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK)
Two Voluntary Prekindergarten specialists help parents enroll their children in the FREE VPK program. They ensure children are eligible by reviewing all necessary documentation and provide parents with VPK certificates for their children’s admittance into the program. A list of VPK providers is given to parents so they may choose an appropriate site for their children. The office assistant also supports this department.
