Board of Directors
A dynamic Board of Directors guides The Early Learning Coalition of St. Lucie County through the unique challenges currently facing businesses and non-profit organizations alike.
Our Board consists of up to 22 members including required members, conditional members, private-sector business members and optional members.
Thirteen members are mandated by statute. They are:
- The Chair, appointed by the Governor, shall serve the term designated by the Governor (voting member).
- The two private-sector business members, appointed by the Governor, shall serve the term designated by the Governor (voting members).
- Department of Children and Family Services district administrator or his or her designee who is authorized to make decisions on behalf of the department (voting member).
- A district superintendent of schools or his or her designee who is authorized to make decisions on behalf of the district (non-voting member).
- A regional workforce board executive director, or his or her designee (voting member).
- A county health department director or his or her designee (voting member).
- A president of a community college or his or her designee (voting member).
- A member appointed by a board of county commissioners (voting member). A Head Start director (nonvoting member).
- A representative of private child care providers, including family day care homes (non-voting member).
- A representative of faith-based child care providers (non-voting member).
- A representative of programs for children with disabilities under the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (non-voting member).
